The Stony Point Police Department took delivery of a 2007 Decatur “On Site 350” Speed Trailer. The trailer was purchased using a grant secured by State Senator Thomas P. Morahan. The trailer will be used as a traffic enforcement tool by the Stony Point Police Department. Speed trailers have long been recognized as an effective method of educating the public in areas that have ongoing speeding problems. The speed trailer is equipped with a traffic counter and is also capable of producing reports containing data such as vehicle speeds, vehicle volumes etc.
The Stony Point Police Department is urging parents to teach their children some simple tips before they head back to school.
